Nature & Purpose of Position:
The Academic Recovery Graduate Assistant (Student Services) supports the operational and service delivery side of the university's Academic Recovery programs, which serve students on academic probation and suspension. This position works alongside Academic Recovery professional staff to strengthen coach training, provide direct coaching support to students, assist Academic Recovery instructors with course-related logistics, and contribute to the review and analysis of Academic Recovery service data. The Academic Recovery Graduate Assistant (Student Services) helps ensure consistent, high-quality support across the Academic Recovery coaching team and contributes to the overall improvement of the Academic Recovery program.
Other Requirements for the Position:
- Support Academic Recovery professional staff in developing and implementing training for the Academic Recovery Coach team.
- Provide coaching support to students enrolled in Academic Recovery courses, including one-on-one appointments as needed.
- Assist Academic Recovery instructors with course-related logistics and support tasks as needed.
- Help staff the Academic Success Center service floor, providing front-line support and coverage as needed.
- Assist with basic review and analysis of Academic Recovery service data to support program tracking and improvement efforts.
- Support various ASC departmental initiatives including, but not limited to, GUIA training, appointment campaigns, and department information presentations.
- Represent and support logistics of the Academic Success Center for initiatives including Student Learning Orientations, Welcome Week, and classroom visits.
- Provide summary reports and make referrals where needed to guide students toward appropriate campus support.
