Job Title: Student Health Insurance Outreach and Engagement Consultant
Department: Student Life | Student Health Insurance
The Student Health Insurance Outreach and Engagement Consultant serves as the university's lead consultant and subject matter expert for student health insurance outreach, engagement, health literacy, and community partnership strategy. The position develops and directs comprehensive outreach initiatives that advance awareness, understanding, utilization, and accessibility of student health insurance benefits and health and wellbeing resources.
This role independently develops innovative outreach frameworks, engagement models, and communication strategies that influence student decision-making and support student success. The position collaborates with university leadership, community organizations, health and wellbeing providers, insurance partners, and campus stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships, expand engagement opportunities, and improve student health insurance literacy. The role applies advanced expertise in community engagement, health promotion, behavior change theory, audience engagement, and strategic communications to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and provide recommendations that have long-term impact on student participation, access, and utilization of health and wellbeing resources.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Higher Education, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working experience designing, implementing and facilitating presentations to internal and external audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in higher education, student affairs, or campus health environments.
- Familiarity with student health insurance plans or healthcare-related communications.
- Knowledge of behavior change models and health promotion strategies.
- Experience working with vendors, agencies, or third-party partners.
- Experience with digital communication tools (CMS, email marketing platforms, analytics tools).
Additional Information:
Job Profile Pay Range: $81,800.00 - $106,900.00
Offers will be made within this range and based on qualifications, internal equity and available budget.
