This role sits within the Student Immigration team and works closely with the Head of Student Immigration to provide high-quality support to international students and their families before arrival, throughout their studies, and as they transition to work or return home.

About the Role
You will work across the compliance and advice teams within Student Immigration, supporting the University’s responsibilities as a licensed sponsor under the UK Points Based Immigration System. The role contributes to ensuring ongoing compliance with Home Office requirements and readiness for audits conducted by both the Home Office and internal auditors.
With around 8,500 Student visa holders at Oxford, this role is central to maintaining compliance while supporting students who require visas or who are visiting the University for short periods.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting central compliance checks and immigration processes
- Managing the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) process for over 800 applications annually
- Advising on short-term study visits, part-time courses, work placements, and internships for Student visa holders
- Providing guidance on sponsor obligations for Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) programmes
- Responding to queries relating to the Graduate Route visa and completion reporting
- Delivering specialist support and training for users of the eVision Visa Management System
- Advising staff and students on all aspects of Student visa compliance and immigration guidance
About You
Essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A confident, diplomatic, and professional approach when working with colleagues, external bodies, and members of the collegiate University
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Significant experience using Microsoft Office applications, including data analysis
- Ability to manage a high workload, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
Desirable
- Knowledge of UK student immigration policy and international issues in higher education
