Position Summary

The Career and Technical Education-CE Department is recruiting for one part time student worker for the Fall 2026 semester. This position works to logistically support the staff in the Career & Technical Education-CE Department as well as assisting in the delivery of student-centered support services. This position assists in responding to student inquiries while fostering an environment of exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with performing office duties such as answering phones, greeting students, monitoring email, and data entry as needed
Assist with the scheduling of appointments for Career & Technical Education-CE staff as needed
Assist students with signing in for appointments and general questions related to the C&TE-CE Department
Assist with preparation for C&TE-CE events
Maintain office bulletin boards
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Dean of C&TE, Department Chair, Administrative Assistant III, and staff

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the summer. To continue employment during the summer session, you must be enrolled in the interim or summer 1 session.
Must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), including developmental courses
English proficiency
Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while loading event supplies, booth equipment, office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
