Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Systems Manager to join the Infrastructure team within Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions on a 6-month, fixed-term, full-time contract.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the management and maintenance of key systems and technology infrastructure, ensuring operational stability and security that meets the needs of the University.
• Help the team to plan and deliver Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions 2026 programme of work, including the datacentre, virtualisation, and HPC refresh projects.
• Provide leadership, HR management, and staff development for the Systems team.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You should be an enthusiastic leader with a background in managing technical teams. Your skills and experience will enable you to guide the Systems team in providing a secure, flexible, and robust technology foundation that supports innovation, integration, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Key requirements:

• Experience leading technical teams.
• A solid understanding of on-prem and cloud Systems Infrastructure management, challenges, and industry trends.
• A proven track record of successful delivery in a large enterprise IT environment.
• Strong communication and engagement with direct reports, management, customers, vendors and key stakeholders.
