Teaching Consultant (Crime Science/Criminology & Sociology) in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (Appointment up to 31 August 2027) [Ref. T/042/26]
Duties
- Deliver teaching and teaching-related activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, specifically in one or more of the following courses/domains:
- Criminology, crime science, and policing
- Sociology, social problems, and research methods
- Statistics and quantitative analysis
- Supervise capstone projects and participate actively in research; and
- Contribute to the broader intellectual project of the Department through publications, seminars, workshops, and research proposals.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Social Sciences with a major in Psychology/Social Work/Sociology/Criminology or related disciplines. A Doctoral/PhD degree will be an asset for consideration;
- Proven ability to teach in English for the courses/domains mentioned in the “Duties” section;
- Experience in providing academic advising or mentoring for students in the tertiary education sector; and
- A track record of successfully teaching large classes will be a plus.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
