Teaching Fellow in Curating
The Courtauld wishes to appoint a Teaching Fellow to a fixed-term position of 15 months to provide cover for permanent teaching staff on the MA Curating programme and other modules on MA and BA programmes.
Role Details
- Contract type: Fixed term, 15 months
- Contract dates: August 2026 – October 2027
- Hours: Part-time, up to 0.5FTE, dependent on modules
- Salary: Up to £23,753 per annum (pro-rata, dependent on modules)
Teaching Responsibilities
This role would include teaching on the following MA Curating modules:
- Two Seminar groups for Practice of Curating (Autumn)
- MA Curating Elective: Working with Artists (Autumn)
- Group Exhibition Project (two groups, Spring and Summer)
The postholder will also be expected to:
- Supervise up to 12 MA Curating Dissertations
- Act as personal tutor for up to 15 BA History of Art students
Workload and Support
Teaching Fellow contracts include an allocation of time for preparation, teaching, tutorials, and marking in line with the weight of each module. In addition, the role includes:
- An administrative allowance of 1 hour for every 3 hours of teaching
- An allowance of time for scholarship at 1 hour for every 3 hours of teaching
- Additional preparation time for independently taught modules

Induction and Training
If you have not taught at The Courtauld before, you will be required to attend the 2026 New Teacher Induction Session on Thursday 18 June (online) and Friday 19 June (in person). If you have taught at The Courtauld previously, you may optionally attend session and you will be expected to attend the whole faculty teaching refresher in September.
