Teaching Fellow in Political Science
POSITION SUMMARY
The Division of Human Performance and Behavior at Schreiner University invites applications for a 2 – 3 year fixed term, full-time, 10-month Teaching Fellow in Political Science beginning Fall 2026.
Typical responsibilities for the Teaching Fellow include:
- Teaching 15 credit hours per semester (30 credit hours annually).
- Participation in a mandatory four-week Summer Faculty Development Institute at the end of each academic year, focused on refining and developing teaching and pedagogical practices, curriculum design and assessment, scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Providing service to the university through committee work.
- Advising students both in pursuit of their degrees and in future career options.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Political Science.
- Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of staff and students.
Additional Information:
Upon successful completion of the 2 – 3 year term, candidates may be considered for a tenure-track position based on teaching performance, curriculum contributions, terminal degree requirements, and institutional needs.
