Type of Contract: Funding limited for 12 months

The University of Aberdeen wishes to appoint a 1-year teaching fellow (1.0 FTE) in Art History from 1 August 2026. Applicants should have demonstrable expertise and teaching experience in art history or a cognate discipline. The successful candidate will teach across the art history undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the Level 2 methodology course What is Art?, and lead one or two honours (years 3+4) or postgraduate courses, chosen from a suite of options. Applicants should have a PhD in Art History or a cognate discipline and a developing profile of research or scholarship, commensurate to experience. The post is to cover the absence of the substantive post holder, who is taking a period of funded research leave.
