Technical Data and Communication Support
The Research Associate will play a key role in organizing, analyzing, and communicating results from greenhouse and nursery production research experiments. This position supports data-driven decision-making and dissemination of findings to scientific, Extension, and industry audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management and Statistical Analysis
- Organize, review, and prepare research datasets for statistical analysis.
- Check data for accuracy, identify missing or anomalous values, and format datasets appropriately.
- Maintain organized project files using Microsoft Excel, OneDrive, and related platforms.
- Analyze experimental data using SAS or comparable statistical software to evaluate treatment effects and support interpretation of results.
- Contribute analytical outputs to peer-reviewed manuscripts, technical reports, and Extension materials.
Data Visualization and Reporting
- Develop publication-quality figures, tables, and graphical summaries using SigmaPlot or similar graphing software.
- Create clear visualizations illustrating treatment responses, crop growth trends, and other experimental outcomes.
- Prepare figures and tables for scientific manuscripts, technical reports, Extension presentations, and PowerPoint summaries for funding agencies and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent formatting, clarity, and professional presentation of all visual materials.
Scientific Writing and Research Communication
- Assist in preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, Extension publications, trade articles, and research summaries.
- Draft methods, results, and discussion sections; summarize statistical findings; and integrate figures and tables into written documents.
- Revise manuscripts and reports based on feedback from the principal investigator and collaborators.
- Support literature reviews, citation management, and manuscript formatting for journal or industry submission.
Project Documentation and Grant Reporting
- Assist with preparation of progress reports, final project reports, and other required documentation for funding agencies and collaborators.
- Compile data outputs, prepare PowerPoint reports, and organize supporting materials related to research deliverables.
- Maintain organized project records to support reporting, manuscript development, and stakeholder communication.
- Perform other related duties as needed to support research, reporting, and communication objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience requirements:
- 3 years of relevant experience with an associate’s degree, or
- 1 year of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.
