Temporary Field/Research Assistant
Position Summary
Individual will provide field assistance including land prep, setting up irrigation, and other day to day chores. Individual will assist with repairs on irrigation, farm machinery, and buildings located at the Blackshank Farm. Individual will be required to mow grass and pick up trash for all areas needed to maintain farm appearance. Individual will assist with a variety of projects as needed by Plant Path faculty and staff to manage field trials. Individual will also help with computer data and other computer programs.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintaining farm appearance – mowing, weed control, picking up trash (30%)
- Assist with farm duties – land prep, irrigation set up, collect soil samples, assist with different trial projects as needed (30%)
- Assist with repairs and maintenance on irrigation, farm machinery, buildings, & farm vehicles (20%)
- Assist in cleaning farm office, farm shop floors, bathrooms, etc. (15%)
- Assist with all computer operations – data entry, word documents, inventory (5%)
