Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Accounting & Finance is accepting applications for a Temporary Part-Time Faculty Member to teach in-person undergraduate finance courses, encompassing delivering lectures, creating assessments, and fostering an inclusive learning environment. Requirements: MBA or an MS in Finance, relevant professional certification ((CFP, CFA, FRM, CMA, CPA, etc.) and business experience. Prior teaching experience is preferred, and strong communication skills are essential. In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to academic and professional student development.
The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as needed basis based on enrollment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Finance or related discipline.
- Candidates with an MBA or other Master's level business degree must have a relevant professional certification (CFP, CFA, FRM, CMA, CPA, etc.) and relevant business experience.
- Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Successful interview.
- Successful teaching demonstration for class teaching assignments.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or ABD in Finance or related discipline.
- A relevant professional certification (CFP, CFA, FRM, CMA, CPA, etc.), and business experience.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
