Temporary Research Assistant – Total Worker Health Systematic Review
Position Summary
This is a new temporary position established to support a time-limited systematic review project within the Carolina Center. The role reports to the Associate Director and works closely with faculty investigators and research team members in the Department of Health Behavior.
The Temporary Research Assistant will support a systematic review examining the effectiveness of Total Worker Health (TWH) interventions conducted by the Carolina Center for Healthy Work Design and Worker Well-Being within the Department of Health Behavior at UNC Chapel Hill. This role contributes to advancing research on workplace health, safety, and well-being, with a focus on essential worker populations.
The position will assist faculty and research staff with systematic review processes, including literature screening, study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment. The Research Assistant will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary research team and must demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and familiarity with public health research methods.
This part-time temporary position requires approximately 10-15 hours of work per week and is fully remote.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
- Coursework in Public Health or a closely related field
- Research experience related to Total Worker Health
- Experience conducting or supporting systematic reviews, including study screening and data extraction
- Familiarity with systematic review management software (e.g., Covidence)
- Experience evaluating, adapting, implementing, or studying public health interventions
