Job Description
The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for on-call/temporary Servers at Rohr's and Legends in our campus Hospitality department.
Server
As a Server at Notre Dame, you'll be the heart of our dining experience, providing prompt, efficient, and courteous service to every guest. Your role goes beyond just serving; it's about anticipating needs, recognizing preferences, and responding with warmth and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and enthusiastically
- Clearly describe and explain our diverse food and beverage offerings
- Accurately create guest orders and communicate them precisely to the kitchen and bar
- Serve food and beverages according to our high standards, ensuring continuous service throughout the meal
- Present guest checks and secure payment efficiently
- Carry food and beverage items using trays whenever possible, moving between dining rooms, the kitchen, and the bar
- Perform necessary accounting processes to meet server banking standards
Qualifications
- Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
- Positive, respectful, excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to obtain a bartending license
- Must meet the minimum legal age requirement to serve alcohol in Indiana
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time)
- Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products
Pay Rate varies by location. Rohr's: $3/hr + tips. Legends: $5/hr + tips.
