The Opportunity
The Applied Aviation Sciences Department of the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona Beach, FL invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Meteorology position. This role requires a candidate with funded-research and teaching experience in dynamic/synoptic meteorology. In addition to expectations of pursuing funded research, the role offers the opportunity to teach undergraduate dynamic/synoptic meteorology courses directly supporting the B.S. in Meteorology program as well as the opportunity to teach additional upper- and lower-level meteorology courses supporting other programs within the College of Aviation. Basic teaching requirements are nine undergraduate credit hours (three courses) per semester with opportunities for course reductions with significant funded research. Faculty members will also be expected to provide modest service to the University and the meteorology profession through a variety of opportunities (e.g., committee work, faculty senate, student organization advisement, outreach, professional society support)
