Position Overview
The Department of Veterinary Science (Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies), Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured appointment with expertise in Companion Animal Veterinary Practice with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026 or January 1 2027.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
A veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent) and experience in companion animal veterinary practice are required, as is research experience in an area related to companion animal practice. Candidates must have a graduate degree or board certification or be eligible for board certification in a field relevant to companion animal practice. Preference will be given to candidates with a doctoral degree (PhD, DVSc or equivalent). Eligibility for licensure in Ontario is preferred.
Continuing education training in professional veterinary communication would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will deliver companion animal lectures and laboratories in clinical medicine courses, work with the OVC Veterinary Communications team, contribute to the accredited veterinary curriculum, establish an independent externally funded research program, and supervise graduate students.
