Tenure-Track Position
The Department of Physical Education Studies is inviting applications for a tenure-track position. The Department offers a Bachelor of Physical Education Studies degree, which includes three streams: Recreation and Sport Management, Teaching, and Exercise Science and Fitness. The ideal candidate is someone whose teaching and research expertise falls within the areas of Physical Education and/or Recreation studies.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for preparing Physical Education students for careers in the areas of teaching, coaching and recreation. This dynamic department is in a state of renewal so responsibilities will include strategic planning, participation in collegial governance, curriculum planning, program assessment, and course development.
Qualifications
- A Masters degree with 5 years of related experience is required; a PhD in a related field is preferred.
- Evidence of successful teaching in the K-12 and/or a post-secondary settings.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop a research program.
- Ability to work collegially
- Leadership experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Commitment to culturally responsive teaching approaches.
- Ability to work closely with Coaches, Athletic Therapist and the Athletic Director.
- Ability to contribute to a small-university environment with a focus on community.

Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
