Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Knowledge, Youth and Digital Technology

The Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Memorial University, is currently undertaking an open, internal search to recruit and nominate a candidate for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Knowledge, Youth and Digital Technology.
This competition is open only to applicants who:
- are current employees of Memorial University; and
- identify as members of one or more employment equity groups (women, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, and persons with disabilities).
Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program Tier 2 Chairs are for 5 years at $100,000 per year + $20,000 research stipend, possible renewal.
Tier 2 Chairs for emerging scholars (<10 years post-PhD, with justification process).
Appointments at Assistant or Associate Professor level. Salary per MUNFA Collective Agreement.
Research
The Chair will focus on transmission of Indigenous knowledge to youth via technology, collaborating with Indigenous communities.
Qualifications
- PhD in Anthropology (Socio-Cultural and/or Linguistic);
- Research track record in Northern Canada/Arctic/Sub-Arctic;
- Community-based collaborative research with Indigenous groups;
- Experience with Indigenous methodologies.
