About the Role

The Transformation Communications Manager will lead the development and delivery of integrated communications and engagement initiatives that support Swinburne’s transformation agenda through its enterprise strategy, Ad Astra_2030. Working closely with the Director, Enterprise Change and Engagement and change, P&C and communications teams across the university, the role will help drive meaningful engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of transformational change. 

Ad Astra_2030 is Swinburne’s shared vision for the future, focused on advancing innovation, technology, and equity through four key Quantum Leaps and a range of transformation programs. In this role, the successful candidate will help bring the strategy to life by building an engaging change narrative and ensuring staff and stakeholders across the university are informed, connected, and engaged throughout the transformation journey. 

The role will be responsible for leading change communication strategies and plans, and building and delivering communications, while also supporting change and project team members and organisational leaders in strategy and execution. Working collaboratively with Ad Astra Business Leads and embedded communications specialists, the Transformation Communications Managers will ensure communications are aligned, audience-focused, and effective across the university. The role will also support initiatives that strengthen entrepreneurial capability, technology fluency, and leadership in local and global change for Swinburne learners and staff.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience leading communications and engagement activities as part of a complex transformational change program, including familiarity with change management tools, techniques or methodologies 
  • Significant experience building integrated, multi-channel communications and engagement strategies, campaigns and tactics in large and complex organizations 
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high value and successful outcomes in a communication and engagement role 
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing communication and engagement initiatives and processes to support them 

Qualifications 

Postgraduate qualifications in /communications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or ? extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
