Offer Description
The University of Bucharest is announcing a competition to fill a position for a Research Scientist (postdoctoral researcher), COR code 211306, as part of the PR ID 35572 CTR No. 9CoEX/ 2026 project.
Employment period: fixed-term -until 31st of December, 2028
Work schedule: 8 hours per day, Job requirements: Doctorate in Chemistry

Skills/Qualifications
Experience and qualifications required for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry;
- Master’s degree in chemistry;
- Ph.D. in chemistry;
- Experience in supervising student research; must have supervised master’s theses for at least two master’s students;
- Experience in the field of chemistry demonstrated through publications, research projects, and at least the following: a minimum of 10 articles (publications in ISI-indexed journals), of which at least 5 as first author or with equal contribution, a Hirsch index > 5 (WOS), a minimum of 85 citations (excluding self-citations), involvement in at least five research projects, and a position as a postdoctoral researcher in at least two research grants;
- Knowledge in the field of organic synthesis, structural analysis, and investigation of the properties of synthetic compounds: techniques for working in an inert atmosphere at the Schlenk vacuum line or in a glove box. C-C coupling reactions (Suzuki, Sonogashira, Stille), C-N coupling reactions (Buchwald). Techniques for monitoring chemical reactions, isolating, and purifying reaction products: thin-layer chromatography, filtration, extraction, column chromatography, recrystallization, distillation, and flash chromatography. Photocatalytic reactions, reaction setup, monitoring, processing, and purification of reaction products.
Specific Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the achievement of project objectives and the fulfillment of established indicators by carrying out the research activities assigned by the project director;
- Participate in the project team’s scientific meetings and propose measures to improve research activities;
- participate in research activities related to chemistry/biochemistry experiments and collaborate with experienced researchers, doctoral students, and master’s students on tasks assigned by the project director;
- participate in the identification and ongoing assessment of risks associated with project implementation;
- participates in specialized conferences and congresses to disseminate the project’s results;
- contributes to the writing of scientific articles presenting the results obtained from the research conducted within the project;
- contributes to the preparation of project proposals for national and international competitions;
- collaborates with members
