Job Duties
- Conduct independent research in the fields of recommender systems, user modeling, information visualization and/or human-computer interaction
- Publications and dissemination of research findings (in journals and at conferences)
- Active participation in institute’s fund-raising enveadors
- Active participation in scientific and industrial cooperation projects
- Independent teaching according to the collective agreement
- Assistance with teaching and administration tasks of the institute
- Co-supervision of Bachelor's, Master’s, and PhD students
- Contribute to academic administration (e.g., in selection committees for professorship positions, etc.)
Your Qualifications
- The candidate must have a completed doctorate (or very close to completion) in computer science or related fields, preferably with a PhD thesis related to Recommender Systems
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in at least one of the following fields (preferably several): recommender systems, user modeling, algorithmic fairness and ecological aspects (e.g., of recommendation algorithms/systems), simulation studies (e.g., simulation of user behavior in recommender systems)
- Strong publication record (in relation to “academic age”)
- Commitment, creativity, ability and desire to carry out independent scientific work as well as publication and dissemination activities
- Fluency in English, written and spoken (level C1) and German (level B2)
- Ability and willingness to teach independently and to supervise students in the fields mentioned above
- Strong social skills
- Ideally, experience in securing third-party funding, execution and administration of international cooperation projects
