About the advertised position:

As a University Assistant Praedoc, you will contribute to Valentina Ausserladscheider's research area. The research focuses on institutional and organizational change in the economy, markets, and society. The focus is on processes in which political, economic and social actors react to new challenges and change existing institutional orders, market structures and social models. Concrete focal points can be the transformation of economic governance and crises, the role of political and economic elites, discursive negotiation processes, and social, financial, and organizational responses to climate change. Particular attention is paid to the interplay of political developments, economic dynamics and social values. The employee should qualify for a doctorate through his/her research.

Your future tasks:

You will be actively involved in research, teaching and administration, which means:

• We expect you to conclude your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
• You are working on your dissertation and its completion.
• You will hold courses independently to the extent of the provisions of the collective agreement.
• You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.

This is part of your personality:

• Completed Master's/Diploma degree in Social Sciences, preferably in the fields of Sociology, Economic Sociology or Political Economy
• Knowledge of qualitative research methods
• Basic IT skills (e.g. Office) are required
• Excellent written and spoken English skills (C1)

Duration of contract: The duration of the contract for employment is 3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-renewal within the first 12 months. If the work progresses accordingly, an extension to a maximum of 4 years is possible.
