This role will work closely with academics, researchers, professional services staff and external stakeholders to support the delivery and growth of an NIHR-funded infrastructure. The postholder will manage and support the successful development, delivery and growth of multidisciplinary research across the HPRU EBS’s five work themes.
Part-time will be considered at a minimum of 0.5 FTE, especially if combined with other posts.
Hybrid working is available - flexible, to be agreed with the line manager.
What will you be doing?
The postholder will:
- Coordinate and support the delivery of HPRU EBS research activities, work themes and collaborative projects.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with NIHR, UKHSA, University colleagues, partner organisations, and external stakeholders
- Monitor research progress, outputs, impact and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with funder, governance and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to, and support development of, research outputs arising from HPRU activities.
- Support the development of new research opportunities, partnerships, funding applications and research collaborations.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance knowledge mobilisation, public involvement, research inclusion, and academic career development within the unit
- Manage key meetings, advisory groups and network-wide activities, including knowledge mobilisation and public involvement initiatives.
- Lead the development and submission of quarterly and annual funding reports to funders and stakeholders
You should apply if you have:
- Significant experience of complex programme or projects management.
- Strong understanding of applied health, public health, behavioural science, or related research environments.
- Experience of research governance, ethics, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience of resource and budget management within externally funded research programmes
- Ability to lead, coordinate, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams.

Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months or the earlier return of the postholder from maternity leave (ideally 01/10/2026-30/09/2027)
Work pattern: Full time/1 FTE (part-time will be considered at minimum 0.5 FTE)
