Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The offices within the Enrollment Division (Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Scholarships and Student Aid (OSSA), the Office of the University Registrar, and the Carolina College Advising Corps) focus on increasing the enrollment of outstanding students from North Carolina and beyond, including students who strengthen diversity; meeting the full demonstrated financial need of all undergraduate students who qualify for federal aid; maintaining the integrity of the student record and academic and administrative processes; supporting student success; and providing great care to all who come our way. The work of the Enrollment Division is closely scrutinized by students and their families; by faculty, staff, students, and alumni; by secondary-school teachers and administrators; by lawmakers at the local, state, and national level; and by the media.
Position Summary:
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a creative, committed, and clear-minded professional to serve as Director of the Carolina College Advising Corps. This position oversees the day-to-day administration and operational management of the Carolina College Advising Corps, a public service of UNC-Chapel Hill that places recent college graduates as next step advisers in high schools across North Carolina, with the aim of helping low-income, first-generation, and underserved students explore and pursue their post-secondary pathways.
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Carolina College Advising Corps and the Deputy Director of Undergraduate Admissions, this position provides leadership for program staff and advisers; oversees adviser recruitment, onboarding, training, and development; manages relationships with partner high schools and districts; leads program assessment, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts; and works closely with the Executive Director to implement strategic priorities, advance program effectiveness, and support long-term sustainability. The Director contributes to strategic planning and organizational development while ensuring the successful execution of program goals and objectives. Travel and work beyond the traditional 40-hour work week are required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Master’s or Bachelor’s and 0-2 years’ experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
- Five years’ experience leading complex college access, educational outreach, student success, or community engagement programs.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, supervision and staff development.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders through strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
- Experience building and maintaining partnerships with schools, districts, higher education institutions, and community organizations.
- Experience with program evaluation, data analysis, reporting, and outcomes assessment.
- Experience managing grant-funded programs, including budgeting, compliance, fundraising, and sustainability planning.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
