The clinical position will cover the full breadth of urologic care for nephrolithiasis, BPH and general urology at VCU and the VA. Position Responsibilities: Teaching The faculty member will have teaching responsibilities including formal lectures and case presentations to undergraduate medical students encompassing all areas of urology and applied anatomy and physiology. Research The faculty member will be expected to be an active participant in clinical trials in their subspecialty interest. Service The faculty member will serve on departmental and/or university committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, e.g., reviewer, conference organizer, etc. Clinical The faculty member will be expected to build and maintain a busy patient centered clinical practice with focus on minimally invasive surgery, PCNL, and HoLEPS for the management of nephrolithiasis, BPH and other urologic disease. This includes both inpatient and outpatient management of all urological diagnoses and operative procedures. Opportunities will exist for expansion of VCU Division of Urology services to outlying clinics and surrounding communities. A multidisciplinary approach is encouraged with our colleagues in medical oncology, radiation oncology, nephrology, transplant medicine, and others. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Must be board certified in urology or board eligible Dedicated to teaching residents and medical students Commitment to laboratory and/or clinical research within the faculty member’s subspecialty interest Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
