We are looking for a highly motivated licensed veterinary technician to join our passionate team of board-certified oncologists, residents, interns, registered veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants in the Oncology Service. We thrive on building relationships with our clients and cancer patients to provide state of the art medicine while at the same time, training the next generation of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

The ideal candidate will assist our team in the delivery of a wide range of cancer treatment options, procedures, and therapies (including some clinical trials). Attention to detail is a must, from patient care to the maintenance of computerized medical records.

The candidate will be responsible for:

• IV catheter placement, the anesthetic preparation, delivery, monitoring and recovery of patients receiving radiation therapy treatments.
• Assist with sample collections, sedations and procedures including biopsies/minor surgical procedures, and imaging procedures (including radiographs, ultrasound and CT).
• Maintain the anesthetic equipment/tools used for the radiation therapy service as well as adhering to controlled drug management and record keeping protocols.
• Ensure that fees for services are appropriately applied to the patient bills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Previous oncology experience is not required, however, an interest in learning and growing your skill set is a must.

Shift

Shifts are during the days, Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
• Licensure as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of Missouri, or eligibility to obtain Missouri Licensure within 6 months after start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in an oncology service or practice is desirable, but not required.
