Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) welcomes applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer (VPAF/CFO). Reporting to incoming University President Vanya Quiñones, the VPAF/CFO will bring sharp financial acumen and strategic vision to stabilize and strengthen the university's financial position, improve its operating efficiency, and make the best use of current and future resources.
The VPAF/CFO oversees a broad and complex portfolio that includes financial planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting, procurement, facilities management, capital planning design and construction, risk management, internal audit, public safety and administrative services. The position also works closely with CPP’s auxiliary organizations.
Cal Poly Pomona’s FY25-26 operating budget is approximately $430 million.
At least 5-7 years of senior-level leadership experience in financial and administrative management within a complex organization is required. In addition, a master’s degree from an accredited institution as well as demonstrated experience in capital planning, facilities management, and infrastructure development is a must. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead teams, manage change, and influence across a large, decentralized organization. Substantial experience in higher education, including within public university systems is preferred, as well as effectiveness in a shared governance environment and experience working with auxiliary organizations and affiliated entities. Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, CMA, or related credentials are also preferred.
