Job Description
The visiting faculty member is likely to teach required first-year courses in legal writing as well as upper-level writing courses covering both academic writing and practice writing. The visitor also may teach in the law school's academic and bar success program, which offers courses designed to introduce, reinforce, and develop skills to enable students to be successful in law school, on the bar exam, and beyond.
Required Qualifications
Requirements for the visiting faculty position include a J.D. degree; bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction (may be inactive); a superior academic record; practice experience and/or teaching experience; a commitment to incorporating innovative teaching methods, including technology and practical skills; and dedication to the mission of LMU Law. The position would be ideal for a practicing attorney who is considering a transition to a career in academia.

Job Duties
- teach law school courses as assigned;
- provide course and classroom conduct as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual;
- comply with the university Faculty/Staff Policy Manual;
- conduct office/conference hours;
- submit textbook requests;
- comply with announced requirements;
- engage in professional development;
- promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;
- attend department, school and university faculty meetings (optional);
- attend commencement activities;
- participate in annual faculty evaluation; and
- perform other duties as assigned.
