Visiting Lecturer - Dept. of City & Regional Planning

The Department of City and Regional Planning in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University invites applications for a part-time Visiting Lecturer position beginning in fall 2026 to teach coursework in Economic Development, Graphic Design and other topics relevant to urban planning.

Applicants for a lecturer position should possess a graduate degree in planning or an associated field, evidence of relevant research and professional work, a commitment to teaching, and expertise in one or more of the following fields: economic development, graphic design, and other topics relevant to urban and regional planning. The expectation is that the lecturer will teach one or more of the following courses: Economic Development, Graphic Design or other topics relevant to the practice of urban and regional planning. In addition, lecturers may be asked to teach a second course for the department that satisfies a need in the curriculum and takes advantage of the lecturer's expertise. Preference will be given to those who have already taught courses in the department or at the university.

The duration of lecturer appointments will typically be for one or two semesters. Salary is typically $15,000-$20,000 per course, depending on the credit hours.

We ask applicants for all faculty positions to share their experiences and/or approaches (past, current, or future) to fostering learning, research service, and/ or outreach in communities. Applicants may choose to submit a stand-alone statement or embed the information in other parts of their application materials. List of three references with telephone numbers and email addresses.
