Visiting Professor of Film Studies - Department of Visual and Media Arts (2026)
Summary
The Film and Video Production program at Grand Valley State University invites applications for a Visiting Professor of film studies for the 2026-27 academic year, beginning on August 6, 2026. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester in film studies, related to film history, theory, and/or criticism.
Required Qualifications and Education
- Master's degree (MA or equivalent) in film studies or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience teaching in higher education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Education
- Ph.D. in film studies or a related field (ABD candidates will be considered)
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching in higher education
Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credits per semester in the Film and Video Production program.
- Be available outside of class time to meet with students independently as needed through regularly scheduled office hours.
Salary/Benefits
