What process options are available for treatment of hazardous chemicals at the point of entry to sewer?

About the Project

We invite applications for a fully funded MSc by Research investigating innovative solutions for the removal of hazardous chemicals, including PFAS, at the point of entry to sewer. This project, supported by the UK Water Industry Research through Isle Utilities, offers a tax-free bursary of £21,805 plus full tuition fees for one year. Based at Cranfield University, the research will evaluate novel adsorption technologies against current industry standards using pilot-scale systems.

The project aims to evaluate innovative adsorption-based treatment technologies for the removal of hazardous contaminants prior to sewer discharge. Through pilot-scale experimentation, the research will compare the performance of a novel adsorbent material with conventional granular activated carbon under controlled conditions.
