Workday Training & Curriculum Lead
POSITION SUMMARY
The Workday Training Lead will design and execute a comprehensive training strategy for GSU’s transition to Workday HCM and Financials which involves: developing curriculum, and multimedia materials to teach functional users new, complex software workflows; translate technical functional specs into user-friendly guides, simulations, and eLearning, focusing on system adoption, process accuracy, and performance support for the end user. This role also ensures that all employees (Faculty, Staff and Student employees) are equipped to use the system's "self-service" and administrative functions effectively before the planned launch on July 1, 2028.
Curriculum & Instructional Design
- Design role-based learning paths (CCMs, HR, Finance, faculty, staff)
- Define learning objectives and competency models
- Apply adult learning theory and instructional design frameworks
ERP Training Content Development
- Develop eLearning modules, simulations, videos, and job aids
- Build content using tools like Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia
- Continuously update content based on system changes
Stakeholder Engagement & Needs Analysis
- Partner with SMEs, functional leads, and USG stakeholders
- Translate Workday business processes into training requirements
- Validate training accuracy and completeness
LMS / LXP Administration & Content Deployment
- Configure and manage Workday Learning or LXP
- Upload courses, manage learning paths, assign training
- Monitor completion and generate reporting
Training Delivery (ILT & VILT)
- Deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions
- Facilitate workshops and office hours
- Support “train-the-trainer” model if applicable
Project & Program Management
- Develop instructional design project plans
- Manage timelines, dependencies, and deliverables
- Coordinate multiple concurrent training initiatives
Module-Specific Content Ownership (HCM & Financials)
- Oversee content for: Payroll, Benefits, Absence; Grants, Procurement, Expenses
- Ensure functional accuracy aligned to configurations
Adoption, Change Management & Training Effectiveness
- Measure training effectiveness (completion, assessment scores, user readiness)
- Support organizational change management efforts
- Adjust training strategy based on feedback and system usage
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience
Preferred Hiring Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, or a related field
- At least 5 years Instructional design experience, specifically with complex enterprise software or ERP implementations
- At least 5 years Technical Training Experience, delivering instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (VILT), specifically for complex software or ERP environments
