Do you want to deepen your workplace relations expertise while advising on complex people matters in a collaborative, values-driven university environment? Then join our forward-thinking Workplace Relations team, where you’ll provide expert advice on employee and industrial relations matters, contribute to enterprise agreement and policy initiatives, and partner with leaders to support contemporary, compliant, and positive workplace outcomes across the University.

In 2025, UniSQ took bold steps to reshape our organisation for the future. In 2026, we are re-negotiating our Enterprise Agreement.

This is your opportunity to contribute to a modern workplace relations strategy that supports our mission to transform lives and solve the problems that matter.

Who you are

You’re a confident and solutions-focused workplace relations professional who enjoys navigating complex people matters and providing practical, risk-aware advice. You combine strong analytical thinking with sound judgement and the ability to communicate clearly and influence effectively across a broad range of stakeholders.

You are motivated by building leadership capability, strengthening workplace practices, and contributing to positive organisational outcomes. With a proactive approach, you’re comfortable managing sensitive matters with discretion while balancing compliance, fairness, and operational needs.

Most importantly, you’re passionate about fostering respectful and high-performing workplace cultures and want to contribute to meaningful workplace relations outcomes.

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll partner with leaders and managers across the University to provide expert workplace relations advice on a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters. From performance and conduct issues to enterprise agreement interpretation, workplace investigations, and policy development, you’ll play a key role in supporting fair, compliant, and positive workplace outcomes.

You’ll contribute to enterprise bargaining activities, develop practical workplace relations resources and training, and help strengthen organisational capability through an educative approach. Working closely with a collaborative and experienced team, you’ll gain exposure to diverse and complex workplace relations matters within a large and evolving organisation.

In your first 6–12 months, you’ll build trusted relationships across the University, contribute to key workplace relations initiatives, and support leaders to confidently navigate complex people matters. Your work will directly influence workplace culture, risk mitigation, leadership capability, and the ongoing development of contemporary workplace relations practices across the University.

What will help you succeed

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Law, or a related discipline
  • Experience managing workplace or industrial relations matters within a complex organisational environment
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian industrial relations framework, including employment legislation, enterprise agreements and awards.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical, risk-aware advice and manage sensitive or complex people matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with attention to detail and sound judgement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment

If you’re looking to deepen your workplace relations experience and contribute to meaningful organisational outcomes, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise and make an impact.
