Writing Center TAP Tutor
General Description
Assist students in the Writing Center
Tutor students in reading, composition, and study skills
Serve as mentor to student staff
Reports To:
Writing Center Supervisor
Minimum Education/Experience
Successfully completed ENGL 1113 (English Composition I) or equivalent and ENGL 1213 (English Composition II) or equivalent with a final grade of B or above
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated excellence in writing skills and knowledge of grammar.
- Accurate filing skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Positive human relations skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly when composing professional and effective email messages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and knowledge of basic computer troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience
Preferred Qualifications
Tutoring experience or experience working in an environment of higher education.
Work Hours:
Flexible hours during the time the Writing Center is open, Monday through Saturday.
