CHIEF ADVANCEMENT OFFICER, SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH | YALE UNIVERSITY
The Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), a dynamic and collaborative leader who will serve as the school’s lead fundraiser and a key strategic partner to the Dean. The CAO will provide vision and direction for donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship; energize and support the school’s development team; foster meaningful connections across campus and among alumni; and play an integral role in advancing the school’s strategic goals as a member of the Dean’s leadership team.
Founded in 1915 by the pioneering public health leader C.-E. A. Winslow, the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) was among the first accredited graduate-level public health programs in the country. Today, YSPH is at the forefront of transforming public health by translating scientific discovery into real-world impact to address the most pressing health challenges facing communities around the globe.
YSPH’s approximately 150 faculty members rank second amongst R1 schools of public health in both scholarly research index and in grant dollars per faculty member; the school is amongst the top five in all other quantitative metrics, as well. The school offers a range of academic and professional programs, including MPH, MS, and PhD degrees as well as executive education and non-degree programs; and approximately 800 YSPH students each year benefit from an exceptional educational experience that combines rigorous scholarship, cross-disciplinary learning opportunities, and global engagement.
Reporting to the Dean, and serving on the Dean’s executive leadership team, the Chief Advancement Officer leads all advancement functions for the Yale School of Public Health, including fundraising, alumni engagement, and advancement operations.
The ideal candidate for the role of Chief Advancement Officer will bring a significant record of leadership and achievement in advancement, including demonstrated success leading fundraising strategy and securing principal and major gifts. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in academic advancement, development, or a related field is required.
This is a full-time position that will be performed on-site in New Haven, Connecticut with some hybrid capacity. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $250,000-275,000 and will include a generous benefits package.
