About the Role
The Australian Dementia Network (ADNeT) is seeking Research Assistants in Newcastle, Adelaide, and Melbourne to support a study evaluating Alzheimer’s disease blood-based biomarker tests in primary care. The role involves coordinating study activities with General Practitioners, managing data collection, and ensuring smooth communication between stakeholders. The successful candidates will work with a high level of autonomy, contributing to research that aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient management for Alzheimer’s Disease in diverse primary care settings across Australia.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Liaise with Practice Managers and GPs to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
- Organise events necessary for GP recruitment and training
- Collate the Patient Information and Consent Forms (PICF) for eligible participants meeting inclusion criteria from the Practice site.
- Collaborate with GPs and Practice Managers to collect required participant information and the GP Diagnosis and Confidence survey pre and post blood test assisted diagnosis, ensuring clear documentation of assessments.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of initiative, professionalism, and discretion, paired with exceptional organizational and teamwork abilities. They will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively engaging with patients and healthcare professionals, and experience in healthcare or clinical research settings, particularly in geriatrics or cognitive health.
You will also have:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, healthcare administration, life sciences).
- Ability to collate information, address problems, maintain well-documented records, and present data at meetings
- Demonstrated computer skills, including use of spreadsheets and word processing such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and simple statistical software

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
