Weather and Climate at AU

Peshawar, where Abasyn University (AU) is located, experiences a semi-arid climate. The city has hot summers and mild winters:

• Summer (May to September): Temperatures can range from 30°C to 45°C (86°F to 113°F). High humidity and occasional dust storms are common.
• Winter (November to March): Temperatures range from 4°C to 20°C (39°F to 68°F). Frost and occasional snowfall can occur in the surrounding hills.
• Rainfall: The city receives most of its rain during the monsoon season from July to September, with an average annual rainfall of about 400mm.
• Extreme Weather: Heatwaves in summer and cold spells in winter can affect commuting and campus life. Outdoor research activities may be limited during these periods.
