Weather and Climate at APU

Aichi Prefectural University (APU) is located in Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The climate is classified as humid subtropical with four distinct seasons:

• Spring (March to May): Mild temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F), with cherry blossoms blooming in late March to early April.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C (86°F) and high humidity. The rainy season (tsuyu) occurs from early June to mid-July.
• Autumn (September to November): Cooler temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), with comfortable weather and beautiful fall foliage.
• Winter (December to February): Mild winters with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C (32°F to 50°F), occasional cold snaps and light snowfall.

The weather can affect commuting due to heavy rains in summer and occasional snow in winter. Campus life and outdoor research activities are generally more active during spring and autumn.
