This pre-term window gives your cohort time to complete all modules at a comfortable pace, pass the Capstone Assessment, and receive their official certification — so they are ready to provide meaningful peer support from the very first day of the academic year.

A Peer Academic Leader (PAL) is a trained, certified student leader who provides mentorship, guidance, and academic support to fellow students at Colleges of the Fenway. The PAL Academy is the online training platform where students complete 10 self-paced modules to earn their professional PAL Certification. Each module takes approximately one hour, for a total time commitment of 10 hours of interactive learning. The program is designed to fit around your existing study schedule at Colleges of the Fenway, with no fixed attendance requirements.

The enrollment fee for the PAL Academy is $100 per student. In the majority of cases, Colleges of the Fenway covers this cost as part of their institutional investment in student leadership. We recommend checking with your Student Engagement, Student Life, or Student Success office to confirm whether your seat is being sponsored for the current intake.

At the end of each of the 10 modules in the PAL Academy, you will complete a short knowledge check quiz that reinforces the core concepts from that unit. Upon completing all 10 modules, you will undertake the PAL Capstone Scenario — a final, written situational assessment where you apply the full range of program principles to a realistic campus mentorship challenge.

Successful completion of the Capstone earns you the official PAL Certification.
