Weather and Climate at CCRI

The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) experiences a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. CCRI campuses are located in Rhode Island, where:

• Winter (December to February) sees average temperatures ranging from 20°F to 40°F (-6°C to 4°C), with occasional snowstorms affecting commuting and campus life.
• Spring (March to May) brings milder temperatures, from 35°F to 60°F (2°C to 16°C), with increasing rainfall that can impact outdoor activities.
• Summer (June to August) is warm and humid, with temperatures between 60°F and 85°F (16°C to 29°C), ideal for outdoor research and campus events.
• Fall (September to November) has temperatures ranging from 45°F to 65°F (7°C to 18°C), with beautiful foliage but also potential for early frosts.

Extreme weather conditions like hurricanes can occasionally affect the region, influencing both commuting and campus operations.
