Weather and Climate at FDU

The Teaneck-Hackensack Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University experiences a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons.

• Winter (December to February): Temperatures range from 20°F to 40°F (-6°C to 4°C), with occasional snowstorms affecting commuting and campus life.
• Spring (March to May): Temperatures rise from 40°F to 70°F (4°C to 21°C), with increasing rainfall that can impact outdoor research activities.
• Summer (June to August): Warm to hot, with temperatures between 60°F to 85°F (16°C to 29°C), and high humidity which can affect comfort during outdoor events.
• Fall (September to November): Temperatures cool from 70°F to 50°F (21°C to 10°C), with beautiful foliage but occasional heavy rains.

Extreme weather conditions like heatwaves or blizzards can occasionally disrupt normal campus operations.
