Weather and Climate at FUT Minna

The Federal University of Technology, Minna experiences a tropical wet and dry climate. The city of Minna, where the university is located, has two main seasons:

• Dry Season (November to March): Characterized by hot temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C. This period can be dusty due to the Harmattan winds.
• Wet Season (April to October): Marked by significant rainfall, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 30°C. The heaviest rainfall typically occurs between July and September.

The climate can affect commuting and campus life, particularly during the wet season when heavy rains may cause flooding and disrupt transportation. Outdoor research activities are often planned around the dry season to avoid weather-related interruptions.
