Weather and Climate at IITR

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee experiences a subtropical climate. The weather at IITR can be described as follows:

Summer (March to June): Temperatures range from 25°C to 45°C. This period is hot and dry, with occasional dust storms.

Monsoon (July to September): The monsoon brings heavy rainfall, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C. The campus can experience flooding and waterlogging during heavy downpours.

Autumn (October to November): Temperatures cool down to 15°C to 30°C. This season is pleasant with clear skies.

Winter (December to February): Winters are mild to cool, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 20°C. Occasional fog and cold waves can affect commuting and outdoor activities.
