Weather and Climate at IES

The Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Sierra experiences a temperate climate with distinct seasons. IES sees:

• Spring (March to May): Mild temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, with occasional rain.
• Summer (June to August): Warmer, with temperatures between 20°C to 30°C, and increased rainfall.
• Autumn (September to November): Cooler temperatures, ranging from 10°C to 20°C, with less rain.
• Winter (December to February): Coldest period, with temperatures from 5°C to 15°C, and occasional frost.

Extreme weather conditions are rare, but the region can experience heavy fog, which may affect commuting. The climate supports a vibrant campus life and outdoor research activities throughout the year at IES.
