Weather and Climate at IBU

International Budo University (IBU), located in Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, experiences a humid subtropical climate. The weather at IBU can be described as follows:

• Spring (March to May): Mild temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C, with increasing humidity and occasional rain.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C. The rainy season (tsuyu) occurs in June and July, followed by the typhoon season in August and September.
• Autumn (September to November): Cooling temperatures from 25°C to 15°C, with lower humidity and clear skies, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities.
• Winter (December to February): Mild winters with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 10°C. Snowfall is rare but possible.

The climate can affect commuting, especially during the rainy and typhoon seasons, requiring students and staff to plan accordingly. Campus life and outdoor research activities are more enjoyable during the milder spring and autumn months.
