Weather and Climate at KU

Kathmandu University, located in the Kathmandu Valley, experiences a subtropical highland climate. The weather is characterized by:

• Summer (June to August): Warm and humid with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C, accompanied by monsoon rains.
• Autumn (September to November): Mild and dry, with temperatures between 15°C to 25°C, ideal for outdoor activities.
• Winter (December to February): Cool with temperatures ranging from 2°C to 12°C, occasional fog and light snowfall in higher altitudes.
• Spring (March to May): Temperatures rise from 10°C to 25°C, with occasional rain and clear skies.

The climate can affect commuting due to monsoon rains, but KU has adapted well to these conditions, ensuring campus life continues smoothly. Outdoor research activities are planned around the drier seasons.
