Weather and Climate at KMS

Kawasaki Medical School (KMS) is located in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. The region experiences a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons:

• Spring (March to May): Mild temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C, with cherry blossoms blooming in late March to early April.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C. The tsuyu (rainy season) occurs from early June to mid-July.
• Autumn (September to November): Cooler temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, with clear skies and comfortable weather.
• Winter (December to February): Mild winters with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C, occasionally experiencing snow.

The climate can affect commuting and campus life, particularly during the rainy season and hot summer months, where students and staff may need to adjust their schedules accordingly.
