Weather and Climate at MPI

Macau experiences a humid subtropical climate. The Macau Polytechnic Institute (MPI) campus life is influenced by the following weather patterns:

• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid with temperatures ranging from 28°C to 32°C. High humidity can affect outdoor activities and commuting.
• Autumn (September to November): Warm and less humid, with temperatures between 23°C to 28°C. Ideal for outdoor research and campus events.
• Winter (December to February): Cooler with temperatures ranging from 13°C to 18°C. Occasional cold fronts can impact campus life.
• Spring (March to May): Temperatures rise from 18°C to 25°C, with increasing humidity. Rainfall can be significant, affecting commuting.
• Rainfall: The wet season from May to September brings heavy rains, sometimes leading to typhoons, which can disrupt campus activities.
• Extreme Weather: Typhoons are a concern, and the university has protocols in place to manage these events.
