Weather and Climate at Meiji

Tokyo, where Meiji University is located, experiences a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Meiji students and staff should prepare for:

• Spring (March to May): Mild temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C, with cherry blossoms in full bloom.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C and significant rainfall, including the possibility of typhoons.
• Autumn (September to November): Cooler temperatures from 15°C to 25°C, with less humidity and beautiful foliage.
• Winter (December to February): Cold, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C, occasional snowfall, and dry air.

The weather can affect commuting, especially during typhoon season, and outdoor research activities may be limited in summer due to heat and rain.
