Weather and Climate at NFU

Nanjing, where Nanjing Forestry University (NFU) is located, experiences a humid subtropical climate. The city has four distinct seasons:

• Spring (March to May): Temperatures range from 10°C to 25°C, with increasing rainfall as the season progresses.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C and frequent rainfall, including occasional typhoons.
• Autumn (September to November): Cooler temperatures from 15°C to 25°C, with less humidity and clear skies, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities.
• Winter (December to February): Cold, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C, and occasional snowfall. The campus life during winter can be challenging due to the cold, but the university provides heated facilities.

The weather impacts commuting and campus life, especially during the rainy and snowy seasons, where students and staff need to be prepared for wet or slippery conditions. Outdoor research activities are more feasible during the milder seasons of spring and autumn.
